Thank you to everyone who came to our class as a Surprise reader! We loved having you in our class!Oh and a few of my very favorite Characters too!
Our favorite characters were the waiters and brought us new books to try. We were encouraged to try books we would not usually pick. The kids then created menus to show which books they read and rated the books. They also wrote a review on the table! We also had delicious snacks at the critter cafe. Fun Times!Students were given a challenge to design a hat to keep them protected from the sun if they were stranded on a desert island. The only materials they could use were : paper towel, foil, paper plates, paper bag, binder clip and string. They had 15 minutes to complete the challenge and explain why they used the materials. We are learning about the properties of matter and students had to use their knowledge of the properties of the materials to make their hats. The Mayor of Rockwood Mayor Guzzi came to Chapman Elementary to tell us about being the Mayor. He taught us many things about being the mayor and answered all of our questions. It was awesome!
